OPEN INVITATION TO ALL NEPALI SCULPTORS
We invite all Nepali sculptors residing in Nepal to join our Sculpture Garden project in Chobhar.

  • All sculptors can postulate by first submitting a small-scale model or maquette of the work they propose. At this stage, it can be in plaster, clay, etc. Drawings will not be acceptable substitutes here.

  • Works should be modern. Styles can be futuristic, symbolic, representational too, as you wish, to the extent that they espouse the FUTURE and leave the past well behind.

  • In submitting any entry to us, we hope you can give free rein to your creativity.

We hope you will submit any new ideas, concepts or forms.

  • When finalized, all statues in the Sculpture Garden will be placed out-of-doors.

It is therefore essential that these works should at that point be constructed of materials capable of resisting the elements (rain, heat, cold, and other elements.)

Acceptable materials are: stone, steel, aluminium, copper, bronze, brass, etc.

Not acceptable is wood and any painted surface or any material which will not stand up to the elements.

  • Artists should understand that the statues they create NEED NOT cost a lot of money to make. For example, if an artist decides on metal, it may be possible to buy that metal from a scrap yard, for very little money. If they have any doubts, artists can consult us.
  • Whatever the circumstances may be, we strongly recommend that artists first contact us to obtain further information, prior to submitting your entry or starting any project. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have. See our contact information below.

  • Each entry will be examined individually, and recommendations made on a case by case basis. Final selections shall be made by the select Committee of Chobhar Sculpture Garden.

  • Neither will the Committee nor any person directly or indirectly associated with Chobhar Village Resort or Chobhar Sculpture Garden be commited in advance to the purchase of work or works from any one artist for this project. Rather, under the terms of an agreement to be concluded in writing between an individual artist and the Chobhar Village Resort on behalf of Chobhar Sculpture Garden, the latter will use its best efforts to sell the artist’s work once on location in Chobhar. Normally, the work will be lent to Chobhar entity for a period of three years, for this purpose.
